Technical Requirements

In order for ACU online programs to run quickly and efficiently, your computer must meet certain minimum hardware and software requirements. If your system does not meet or barely meets the minimum requirements, the online learning software may run slowly or not at all. In order to have the best possible online learning experience, it is recommended that your computer exceeds the minimum standards as much as possible.

Minimum hardware requirements for PC Users:

• Operating System: Windows 98/2000/NT/XP
• RAM: 128MB recommended
• Free Disk Space: 50MB (100MB recommended)
• Modem: 56K modem (DSL or cable modem recommended if your course is graphically intensive)
• Sound Card & Speakers: For audio embedded into PowerPoint or Flash files
• Browser: Internet Explorer version 6.0 or higher
• Also Recommended: Netscape Navigator 7.0 or higher or Mozilla Firefox 1.5 or higher

• Operating System: Macintosh OS 9 or higher
• RAM: 128MB recommended
• Free Disk Space: 50MB (100 MB recommended)
• Modem: 56K modem (DSL or cable modem recommended if your course is graphically intensive)
• Sound Card & Speakers: For audio embedded into PowerPoint or Flash files
• Browser: Internet Explorer for Mac version 5.2.3 or higher
• Also Recommended: Mozilla 1.5 or higher

Software: Recommended: Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat Reader

Plugins: Adobe Flash Player, Director, JAVA, Real One Player, Quicktime
